About This Project
DoctorTracker is a full-stack clinical management portal engineered for healthcare coordinators to streamline physician assignments, monitor patient admissions, and track facility-wide clinical trends in real time. Built with Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, and Express 5, the system couples a high-density clinical dashboard with a decoupled REST API backend backed by MongoDB and Mongoose.
On the backend, analytics queries across physician caseloads, monthly admissions trends, and diagnostic distributions are consolidated into a single MongoDB $facet aggregation pipeline, executing multi-faceted metrics in parallel in a single database roundtrip. To eliminate costly $lookup table joins during high-throughput directory pagination, doctor documents maintain an atomic patientCount field synchronized via MongoDB $inc operators on patient lifecycle events. On the frontend, table filter states, specialties, and pagination parameters synchronize bidirectionally with URL search parameters (with debounced search inputs) to preserve browser history and deep-linking, while Recharts visualizations use client-mounted hydration guards to prevent SSR mismatch layout shifts.
Tech Stack
Key Features
- Single-roundtrip MongoDB $facet aggregation pipeline computing parallel analytics, caseloads, and trends
- Denormalized atomic patientCount synchronization on doctor records eliminating expensive runtime joins
- URL-synchronized filter state and debounced search preserving navigation history and deep-linking
- Interactive Recharts analytics dashboard with SSR hydration guards for layout-shift-free rendering
- Stateless JWT authentication with Zod request validation schemas and standardized JSON envelopes
The Outcome
Deployed live across Vercel and Render at doctortracker.adibdev.me (Backend API: doctortracker-api.adibdev.me). Open-sourced on GitHub across both Frontend and Backend repositories, complete with Zod runtime validation, Bearer JWT authentication, automated API verification suites, and a one-click demo login flow.
